Privacy policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
The short version
- Taskier works without an account, and then your tasks never leave your computer.
- An account is optional. With one, your tasks sync through our server so they're on all your devices.
- We don't sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
- You can delete your account, and everything on our server with it, from the app at any time.
What stays on your computer
These never leave your computer, with or without an account:
- Calendar events. Taskier reads your Mac's Calendar app or your Google Calendar (only with your permission) to remind you before events. It never changes your calendar, and events aren't synced. See Google Calendar below.
- Whether you're in a call. After you tap Join on a meeting, Taskier checks for a few minutes whether your microphone is in use (or, on a Mac or Windows PC, whether a Zoom meeting window is open) to confirm you made it in. It only checks that the mic is busy; it never listens to or records anything.
- Your voice. Offline voice packs turn speech into text on your computer. If you use Mac dictation instead, Apple's own privacy policy applies to that.
- Your clipboard. When you open quick capture, Taskier looks at the clipboard to suggest a task. Nothing is kept or sent unless you add it.
- Your stats. Streaks, weekly insights and the logs behind them (when tasks were added and finished, without their titles) are stored only on your computer.
- Settings, sounds and voice packs.
Google Calendar
If you choose Connect Google Calendar, you sign in with Google and allow Taskier to:
- See your calendars and their events (read-only), and
- See your email address, only to show which Google account is connected.
How that information is used:
- Taskier uses your events only to remind you before meetings, show your upcoming events, offer one-tap Join for video calls and include today's schedule in your morning check-in.
- Your computer fetches events straight from Google. They're never sent to our server, never shared with anyone, never used for ads or to train AI models, and never seen by a person. Taskier keeps only the next 48 hours of events on your computer and removes each one when it ends.
- The sign-in token that lets Taskier read your calendar is stored only on your computer, in a file only your user account can read. It never reaches our server.
- Taskier never creates, changes or deletes anything in your Google account.
To stop access, choose Disconnect under Settings → Calendar. Taskier deletes the token and its copies of your Google events, and asks Google to revoke the access. You can also remove Taskier at any time from your Google Account's Third-party access page.
Taskier's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If you create an account
We store what's needed to run it:
- Your profile: a username, and optionally a display name and email address, plus your time zone and @mention preferences.
- Your synced tasks: titles, times, plans and notes, so they can reach your other devices. Finished tasks are removed from the server after 7 days.
- Your devices: a random ID and the computer's name for each device that syncs, and when it last did.
- Mentions: when you @mention someone, we record it so it's only delivered once, and may email them if they've asked for that.
- A security token: we store only a one-way hash of your access token, never the token itself.
AI features
Smart capture and suggestions while you type are optional. When you use them, the text you're working on is sent through our server to one of our AI model partners to find the tasks, times and details in it. We don't log or store that text; we keep only a count of how many times you've used the feature each month, for the monthly allowance. We only work with model partners whose terms don't allow them to use this data to train their models, and they process it only to give you the result.
Payments
Pro subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep your plan, its status and renewal date, and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs that link them to your account.
The website and emails
- The download form: the first name and email address you enter, so we can send you the download and a quick start guide. Tips and product updates only go to you if you tick the box, and every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
- Feedback you send from the app: your message and, if you choose, a reply email and basic system details (app version and operating system).
- Fonts: the website loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google may see your IP address when you visit.
- Our server keeps short logs (the time, the page and the response) to keep it running and to stop abuse. They don't include what you type.
How long we keep things
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Finished tasks on the server: 7 days.
- Calendar events (Mac or Google): only on your computer, until each event ends.
- Download sign-ups: until you ask us to remove them (deleting an account with the same email removes them too).
- Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Settings → Account & sync → Delete account. That removes your account and everything tied to it from our server straight away: your profile, synced tasks, devices, mentions and AI usage, plus any download sign-up and pending emails for your address. Feedback you've sent is kept, but no longer linked to you. The tasks on your computer stay there until you remove the app. If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it first so you aren't charged again.
Your rights
You can see and change your profile in the app, export or delete your tasks by removing them, and delete your account at any time. To ask what we hold about you or for anything else about your data, contact us (below). Taskier isn't meant for children under 13.
Security
Access tokens are stored as hashes, a Google sign-in stays on your computer only, requests are rate-limited, and the AI and payment providers are only sent what each feature needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to the minimum.
Contact and changes
Questions about your data? Email [email protected], or use Send feedback in the app (Settings → Send feedback).
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and tell account holders in the app or by email.
